Blake’s wife suggested that the mortgage broker model was exactly what the renovation industry needed and the perfect way to extend their home renovation and design services. And they haven’t looked back.

    But what they did need to do was rebrand to ensure their clients knew what they stood for.

    Incredibly important in an often-word-of-mouth business. The rebrand allowed Blake to refresh his identity to incorporate and showcase his new home renovation broker service. He worked collaboratively with Creative Order to ensure he could build a new brand name and brand identity to capture and represent his unique service model – and Improva was born.

    Renovation business rebrand. Creative Order came up with their new brand name, Improva. Here’s the story behind the name.

    IMPROVA is a derivative of the word Ompröva, which is the Swedish word for Rethink. After years of working in the renovation game and hearing horror story after horror story, Blake rethought the way to renovate and came up with a unique model that makes renovating effortless. 

    IMPROVA looks like the word Improve, which is what renovating is all about, and by pronouncing it IM-PRO-VA, we are emphasising that we are pro’s in what we do.

    The M in the logo looks like a piece of modern architecture. There are also three matching details within the logotype (on the r, v and a) representing three for each party; Client, IMPROVA and Suppliers. These take the form of speech marks, symbolising the communication skills at IMPROVA, which are fundamental to a successful renovation and a happy client.

    The icon is a pointed graphic device made up of sturdy lines, which works to communicate something of a structural nature, like a home, and therefore, placing the brand in the renovation and home building industry. 

    As much as Blake has secretly loved seeing his name on every email, paperwork and signage, it was time to let it go and embark on a bigger and bolder new chapter for his expanding company.

    So the old branded URL, www.blakesofsydney.com.au changed to the new www.improva.com.au
